Our Dentist: Dr. Roderick Smythe

Dr. Rod Smythe, originally from Nelson, B.C., attended the University of British Columbia (U.B.C) and graduated with a B.Sc. in Microbiology. He was admitted to the U.B.C. School of Dentistry in 1982 and graduated with a D.M.D. in 1986. He practiced as on associate dentist for 2 years before establishing Kits Point Dental Group in 1988.

Dentistry is an ongoing learning experience and as such, Dr. Smythe has taken much continuing education in the fields of cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canals), orthodontics (braces), restorative dentistry( fillings, crowns, inlays, onlays and bridges) and implants. He continues to be active in study clubs involving most of the above.

Dr. Smythe believes in offering his patients the best dentistry has to offer and to this end, has acquired the latest technology for creating exceptional inlays, onlays and crowns in just one appointment. This technology is called CEREC and must be seen to be believed. No more waiting a week between appointments with a temporary crown. The crown is made while you wait and cemented in the same visit. Truly remarkable.

As well as all other general dental services, Dr. Smythe is also able to offer "Invisalign" clear braces and "Zoom!" in-office teeth whitening. If this stuff doesn't make you smile, nothing will!
